What The Fellas Say

You’re lying under a chestnut tree in late summer. The bees are buzzing and the flies are lazily circling the remains of your picnic of fresh apricots and peaches and goat cheese. It’a all a bit dreamy and magical thought that’s probably from the empty bottle of Respiro “Flower” lying on the picnic basket – a delightful natural wine that was so full and fresh and easy that you’ve polished off the whole thing.

About The Winemakers

Cabeças do Reguengo is a biodynamic family-owned winery in Alto Altentejo. Their terroir, tucked under the lower slopes of the Serra, is very distinct from the usual Alentejo climate and landscape. Their wines are ALL from century-old or antique vineyards and are ALL field blend, which makes for some fascinating, complex wines, even at entry level. Their viticulture is free of chemicals and dedicated to restoring traditional farming systems, including grafting onto dead or old vines to retain and revive the original grapevine stock – expensive, bold and risky, but that’s the only way to fully restore the vineyard that makes the wines they love so much.
