What The Fellas Say

Palhete wines are supposed to be fresh and light and cheap. Well, not this one. True to the mission of Kaputt – making something interesting out of failure – this red/white blend has aged 14 months in stainless steel and has some serious character. It’s delicate and intense at the same time. It’s a strawberry field in mid-summer with a hint of the farmer’s pipe tobacco lingering on the breeze. It’s a cherry bomb dipped in memories and laughter. Drink chilled but let it come alive on your tongue.

What The Sommelier Says

Kaputt Palhete has a soft salmon-red color and complex aromas with notes of cherry and forest. The palate reveals a great balance of acidity and freshness, well-structured.

Pairs well with…

…canapés, fish dishes, seafood, and even risotto, especially mushroom dishes.

Region: Douro

Region: Douro

The wines of the Douro Valley are known for their depth, complexity, and aging potential. The soil is predominantly schist, a type of metamorphic rock that retains heat and helps to ripen the grapes. The region’s unique terroir, combined with the use of indigenous grape varieties and traditional winemaking techniques, create wines that are rich, complex, and full of character.
