What The Fellas Say

Up in the granite heights of Dão, this white feels like a letter carried on mountain air. Old vines and altitude give it a cool, stony poise, while the barrel touch adds a soft glow, like firelight catching on pale gold. A bottle for quiet attention and a table set with something from the sea.

What The Sommelier Says

Golden yellow colour, intense nose with hints of white orchard fruit, citrus, herbs and light toast. The palate is full with vibrant acidity and a saline edge. Notes of flint, apple and orange peel carry through a focused, tense mid-palate. It finishes long, deep and very persistent.

Pairs well with…

…grilled octopus, oily fish and seafood with a touch of char; white meats, creamy rice dishes and semi-cured cheeses.

About The Winemakers

Casa Américo is built on the legacy of Américo Seabra and his family’s long ties to the vineyards and lands of the Dão. The producer farms in the Serra da Estrela sub-region, including old-vine sites at Quinta do Aral. Across its estate holdings, Casa Américo works with traditional vineyards, some of them very old, to express altitude and regional character.
