What The Fellas Say

This is a Mozart Oboe Concerto, light and fluid and drifting across your palate with the gentlest of sea breezes that has blown in over the Atlantic ocean while a dusky sun sets deeply on the horizon and your belly starts to think about dinner, some clams in broth with thick sourgough bread or a bowl of noodles with a creamy, tangy sauce or maybe a sea bream fillet, grilled with the skin on so it curls nice and crispy at the edges and when you pair it with the Riesling the wine dances around your mouth in sheer delight of finding its true calling.

What The Sommelier Says

Citrus yellow color, with golden reflections and distinct greenish hue. The aroma is fruity and slightly buttery with hints of dried fruit and wet sand. Fresh and smooth with an underlying creamy structure accompanied by a captivating citrus acidity and perfect dryness for a long, persistent finish.

Pairs well with…

…a delicately grilled sea bream with a generous spritz of fresh lemon; half a dozen Algarve oysters; a polenta and olive oil cake with lemon zest.

About The Winemakers

Quinta do Rol is a centuries-old, family-owned estate in the Lourinhã region north of Lisbon, where favorable coastal climate, argillic-calcareous soils, and carefully managed viticulture support the production of high-quality wines, sparkling wines, fortified wines, and the renowned Lourinhã DOC Aguardente. Evolving from its origins in pear and apple cultivation, the estate now maintains around 120 hectares of vineyards and combines traditional knowledge with modern practices to craft elegant, complex, and long-lived wines marked by freshness, minerality, and salinity. As the largest local producer of grapes and aguardente—and home to the municipality’s only approved distillery—Quinta do Rol plays a leading role in one of the world’s three exclusive PDO aguardente regions, while cultivating both prestigious international grape varieties such as Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, and Sauvignon Blanc and notable Portuguese varieties like Arinto and Alvarinho.
