What The Fellas Say

this wine is like a tightrope walker in an old time circus, teasing the crowds with daredevil tricks and a smile on her face. she suspends our disbelief with poise, balance, danger, holding us spellbound between two worlds: on one side, a fresh, clear minerality – bright and lively. on the other, a complex burst of tropical fruit with a sprig of mint around the edges and a hint of old oak barrels.

What The Sommelier Says

Fresh and aromatic on the nose, with floral and citrus notes and a mineral touch of wet stone. On the palate, freshness and florality carry through, with citrus well to the fore and a subtle smokiness. Lively acidity leads to a slightly saline finish.

Pairs well with…

…a grilled sea bass with lemon butter, a light prawn pasta, creamy goat’s cheese crostini or a charcuterie board with presunto and mild sheep’s cheese.

About The Winemakers

This is a personal project by winemaker João Cabral de Almeida, producing wines in the Douro, Dão, and Vinho Verde regions. Under the motto “Wines with a sense of place,” the project focuses on creating wines that faithfully express their place of origin and the grape varieties used. João’s approach to winemaking is straightforward: “We spend the entire year focused on producing the best grapes. Then, in the winery, we aim to intervene as little as possible to let Nature express itself to the fullest.”

Region: Douro

Region: Douro

The wines of the Douro Valley are known for their depth, complexity, and aging potential. The soil is predominantly schist, a type of metamorphic rock that retains heat and helps to ripen the grapes. The region’s unique terroir, combined with the use of indigenous grape varieties and traditional winemaking techniques, create wines that are rich, complex, and full of character.
