Adega Dona Paterna, by Carlos Alberto Codesso, is located in Quinta da Carvalheira, in the center of the parish of Paderne, near the town of Melgaço. It is located near the ancient Mosteiro and its ancient Roman church, which is a national monument.

As vines are located in the sub-region of Monção-Melgaço, possessing a unique micro-climate in the world, it is also known as the Alvarinho wine region which, due to its unique characteristics, is also called “the king of green wines”, therefore, this sub-region is inserted in region of two green wines. The planting, conservation and treatment of the vines is accompanied by Agronomist Fernando Sousa, who from the beginning has been supported by Carlos Alberto Codesso.
