What The Fellas Say

Lots of grapes. Lots of Alentejo. Lots of big mouth, ripe fruit, spicey yumminess. Lots of age. Lots of patience. Lots of smooth, punchy layers. Lots of red berries and lots of purple violets and lots of plum pudding. Lots of lots to love.

What The Sommelier Says

Ripe red fruits, violets and spice notes. Layers of ripe fruit, good acidity and structure. Excellent volume with well-integrated oak, followed by a smooth and lingering finish.

Pairs well with…

…slow-braised lamb with rosemary and garlic, a wild mushroom and truffle pasta, aged Alentejo cheese with fig jam or a Sunday roast that’s been in the oven since morning.

About The Winemakers

Terras de Alter, a winery in Alto Alentejo, was founded in 2004 through a partnership between two traditional agricultural companies and winemaker Peter Bright. In 2008, the company built its own state-of-the-art winery, establishing itself as a key producer of quality wines in the Alentejo region. Acquired in 2021 by Ímpar, S.A., with new foreign investors, the winery gained financial autonomy and growth potential, focusing on producing superior wines. The company’s success is driven by nearly 20 years of Bright’s expertise and strong relationships with local grape growers, with plans to acquire its own vineyards and further enhance its team and operations.
