What The Fellas Say

They called it “Nature” but they could call it “Naked”. Its like a dew-draped dryad dancing in an ancient oak forest, horny satyrs prancing among the magic mushrooms. It’s the purest essence of Alvarinho. Its crisp and bright and deep and sexy, and it lingers on the palate with ripples of citrus and stone and a tantalising tease of honeysuckle.

What The Sommelier Says

Limpid clear golden color with flecks of yellow. Intense aroma with nose of green apple, pineapple suffused in wet grass fresh cut wood. In the mouth has personality, good body, high acidity, dry and crisp, with hints of white pulpy fruit, vegetal and woody notes for a prolonged finish.

Pairs well with…

…seafood, sushi, grilled or baked fish, a roast chicken, juicy pork tenderloin, creamy cakes or fruit tart.

About The Winemakers

Amadeu Abílio Lopes, originally from Melgaço in the Minho region, moved to Brazil in the mid-20th century in pursuit of new opportunities. He became a successful businessman and industrialist but never forgot his roots. Upon returning to his homeland, he aimed to contribute to the development of Melgaço and founded Quintas de Melgaço. This company brought together local producers, helping to promote the region and its wines, particularly Alvarinho, on the global stage. Quintas de Melgaço now unites over 500 small producers, all of whom are deeply connected to the region. Through their collective efforts, they have elevated Melgaço’s Alvarinho wine to international recognition. The wine, known for its unique character shaped by the local climate and soil, embodies the region’s rich history and traditions, passed down through generations of winemakers
