What The Fellas Say

Imagine being wrapped in slices of melon, spritzed with orange flower and lemon peel, then lovingly placed in an old oak barrel and turned over very slowly once a month for a year. You’d end up just like this limited edition Alvarinho: deliciously, delicately full of fruit and citrus, mellow around the edges, elegantly preserverd and packing a punch. They only make about 1200 bottles of this delicacy, from a tiny plot of 0.7 hectares, and only in exceptional years. So drink it while you can!

What The Sommelier Says

Casa do Barroso Alvarinho Barrica shows a bright golden hue with green reflections. The nose reveals ripe stone fruit, citrus peel, and delicate toasted notes from oak aging. On the palate, it combines fresh acidity with a creamy texture, unfolding layers of orchard fruit, spice, and subtle vanilla. The finish is long, balanced, and elegant, making this Alvarinho not only a gastronomic wine but also one with aging potential.

Pairs well with…

…roast quail with pear, a thick creamy linguine with truffles, classic New York cheesecake.
