Encruzado, Malvasia Fina

White Wine

What The Fellas Say

Memories and echoes of a vanished world. Ancient whispers among old vines and crumbling walls. The winemakers have captured these voices with precision, harvesting in small batches early in the morning, full de-stemming, and letting the Encruzado express itself with a hint of that sweet spicy Malvasia Fina.

What The Sommelier Says

Presents with citrus and white fruit notes. In the mouth, excellent volume, mineral tones and delicate ripe fruit. A modern profile, but very classy and gastronomic.

Pairs well with…

…anything east of red meat: chicken piri-piri, paella, a braised sea bass or some fresh sushi.

About The Winemakers

The project, initiated in 2013, aims to preserve and enhance the cultural and natural heritage of Casa de Santar and Magalhães, as well as the surrounding village of Santar. The unique landscape of the village, defined by continuous garden terraces and vineyards, has been unified by breaking down walls and creating a seamless narrative for visitors. This project opens Santar’s historic gardens and vineyards to the public, revealing the area’s hidden beauty while promoting social, cultural, and economic development. In the realm of wine production, the project has evolved into a collaboration with Sociedade Agrícola de Santar SA, where Casa de Santar wine is produced. Additionally, Santar Vila Jardim Wines Lda. was founded to focus on boutique, high-quality wines using grapes from the best vineyard plots. Two wines, Santar Vila Jardim and Memórias de Santar, have been created, with the latter sourced from the original plot that produced the renowned Conde de Santar wine. The family’s original winery has been modernized to support the vinification and aging of these exceptional wines.
