What The Fellas Say

This is an arabesque wine – a ballerina, poised, balanced on tip toe, limbs like spread wings drawing perfect imagined lines forward and back – the subtle deep notes of red fruits and earthy tannins standing still for a beautiful moment on your tongue before spreading in warm

What The Sommelier Says

Deep ruby colour with blue edges, with a strong elegant nose of red fruit, spice and resinous herbal notes. On the palate it is balanced and poised, with present tannin, lively acidity and a long, authentic finish. There is both savoury complexity and quiet persistence here.

Pairs well with…

…a slow-cooked herbed pork roast, any red meat off the grill, or how about adobo steak tacos with a chipotle salsa or a rich mushroom risotto stirred with fresh parmesan.

Region: Bairrada

Bairrada produces wines with high acidity and tannins, often aged in oak barrels to soften the tannins and develop complex flavors. The region’s soil is predominantly clay and limestone, which helps to retain moisture and gives the wines a distinct minerality.
