What The Fellas Say

A masquerade. A make-believe. A ruse. A fruity white wine from select batches of Touriga Nacional, Alfrocheiro and Tinta Roriz grapes. The winemaker is having us on, teasing us with a liquid almost as clear as water yet when opened fills our nose with canteloupe and strawberry, and delights our palette with texture and balance and a deep long finish. Only 4,000 bottles of this limited edition ‘blanc de noir’ were produced. Get it while you can!

What The Sommelier Says

An elegant white wine with an intense fruity aroma of melon and strawberry. Good structure with texture and personality and a fresh and prolonged finish.

Pairs well with…

…a fatty fish, clams swimming in butter white wine broth, or a hearty veggie soup.

About The Winemakers

Casa Américo was born from Américo Seabra’s dream of producing wines that express his homeland, Vila Nova de Tazem, located in the heart of the Serra da Estrela sub-region, in the Dão region. This is one of the most distinctive terroirs of the Dão, where noble wines with unique freshness and elegance are produced. When he emigrated to the United States in 1967, he took his wife and six young children with him, but his heart always remained in Portugal. Around the year 2000, he returned to Portugal to fulfill his dream of producing wines in these mountainous lands. In 2009, his children decided that they should support and realize their father’s dream. Thus, Casa Américo was born. The mission of Casa Américo is to honor the memory of Américo Seabra by producing wines that best express the Serra da Estrela region while simultaneously developing and enhancing it.
