What The Fellas Say

A joy of freshness and salinity and little watermelon angels tickling your tonsils with peppery feathers. We challenge you to drink this without smiling. Gorgeously crisp and drinkable all summer long.

What The Sommelier Says

On the nose, it offers aromas of wild berries and red fruits, with a fresh, slightly floral character and well-defined notes of sweet strawberry. On the palate it is fruity, fresh, and balanced, with a lively acidity and a persistent finish

Pairs well with…

…grilled salmon with herb butter, a watermelon and feta salad, light berry desserts or a lazy afternoon aperitivo with strawberries and charcuterie.

About The Winemakers

Dona Paterna was founded by Carlos Alberto Codesso, inspired by his father’s passion for viticulture, and officially established in 1990 after years of hands-on experience and a deep connection to the land. Located in the historic parish of Paderne—home to a 10th-century monastery founded by the noble Dona Paterna—the winery honors its namesake’s legacy. Situated in the Monção and Melgaço sub-region, known for its unique microclimate and granite-rich soils, Dona Paterna cultivates rare, high-quality Alvarinho grapes on 17.5 hectares of south-facing slopes. With expert guidance from oenologist Fernando Moura, the winery blends modern technology with traditional methods to craft wines that are both distinctive and versatile, ideal as aperitifs or with seafood, fish, and poultry.
