Sometimes the simple path is most effective. This blend of Encruzado, Malvasia-Fina and Cerceal-Branco grapes is grown at altitude in granite soils. The wine is fermented in stainless steel with wild yeasts then matured in an 80-year-old cement tank. It’s expressive and confident and multi-purpose. It’s got a good solid four-on-the-floor beat that fills your mouth with smooth mineraly base layers, a no-nonsense rhythm section of pear and peach, and teasing high notes of orange flower.

This wine has a deep golden colour with orange nuances. Lovely intense nose of tropical and stone fruits and orange blossom. On the palate it’s well-balanced between a full and unctuouss body (probably from the micro-oxidation in concrete as well as the battonage) and excellent acidity and freshness.

Ribeiro Santo is the flagship brand of Carlos Lucas’s Magnum Vinhos, founded in 2011 and located in Oliveira do Conde between the Mondego and Dão rivers. Lucas has more than 35 years’ experience in winemaking, creating innovative award-winning wines with an ever-expanding portfolio. In 2008 he was awarded “Best Winemaker” by the magazine Revista dos Vinhos, and in 2014, Magnum Vinhos, with its sustainable growth strategy and respect for the land, was awarded “The Best Farmer” by the Ministry of Agriculture.
