What The Fellas Say

A shimmering creek at the bottom of a sundipped orchard. Something dips and darts between the trees, sprinkling fairy dust on the wildflowers and lemon blossom. Bees buzz in your ear and wafts of honey and watermelon tickle your nose. You dip your hands in the creek and drink. The magic of the orchard fills your mouth: violets, fresh cut grass, ripe peaches and something earthy and tropical. A quiet, subtle symphony.

What The Sommelier Says

Pale yellow/bright green colour. Subtle but elegant nose; harmoniously combines delicate notes of passion fruit, citrus fruit and exuberant notes of green asparagus and green currant. Discovers its intensity in the mouth; full of vivacity; the freshness from its coastal terroir is in perfect harmony with the structure and creaminess, so characteristic of Quinta do Pinto. It ends with a long and persistent finish.

Pairs well with…

…a bowl of fresh steamed clams swimming in butter and garlic and parsley; a chanterelle ravioli; or pack it in a cooler and eat on the beach with some piri-piri chicken from the local churrasqueira.

About The Winemakers

Historically, the wine produced at the estate two centuries ago was so highly regarded in the region that it was worth more than the gold currency known as “Pintos” during the reign of King João V. This wine gained fame in European courts, and the estate’s charismatic steward at the time was also named Pinto, which led to the estate being referred to as ‘the Pinto.’ Coincidentally, Pinto is also the surname of the current owners, the Cardoso Pinto family, who proudly named their winemaking project and one of their wines after this legacy. Their mission is to produce high-quality wines that showcase the best of the region.
