What The Fellas Say

This wine is like listening to a jazz trio inside a red berry smoothie: cool and sweet and smooth and layered. The bassist lays down an earthy groove of spicy, woody notes; the sax player fills the air with vibrant cherry and plum and raspberry; and the drummer keeps time with a delicate brush stroke of tannins.

What The Sommelier Says

A deep ruby colour with a strong varietal expression of red fruits, cherry, cassis, blackberry and cedar. In the mouth it is dry with a medium body, a good balance of acidity and tannins, and a gentle finish.

Pairs well with…

…a T-bone steak off the grill, juicy lamb chops, or venison medallions with mashed sweet potato and red currant coulis.

About The Winemakers

This is a personal project by winemaker João Cabral de Almeida, producing wines in the Douro, Dão, and Vinho Verde regions. Under the motto “Wines with a sense of place,” the project focuses on creating wines that faithfully express their place of origin and the grape varieties used. João’s approach to winemaking is straightforward: “We spend the entire year focused on producing the best grapes. Then, in the winery, we aim to intervene as little as possible to let Nature express itself to the fullest.”
