What The Fellas Say

Thick and juicy and a wee bit spicy. Like a pork chop off the grill dripping in umami this wine is like a swimming pool of gorgeous red fruits and cherries and peppers that will make you want to dive in head first. Toughened up on the high slopes of Beira Interior, these grapes have character and volume and depth.

What The Sommelier Says

Elegant in aroma, where the delicious jam notes guide us to a flavor full of character, which is not unrelated to the elegance and personality of the firm and persistent tannins.

Pairs well with…

Pairs beautifully with rich, flavorful dishes such as grilled or roasted red meats, game like duck or wild boar, and traditional Portuguese fare like cabrito assado or posta Mirandesa. Its bold structure also complements aged cheeses like Queijo da Serra or Manchego, and even blue cheeses. Earthy mushroom dishes and smoky eggplant recipes match the wine’s depth, while its dark fruit and spice notes make it a surprising but satisfying partner to dark chocolate desserts.
