What The Fellas Say

This is summer heat and morning mists and deep sandy soils. It’s the dusty Palmela plains overlooking the Sado estuary protected by the Arábida massif. It’s an Arinto that is playing with us, teasing us, like hearing the singular round depth of a cello on a hot summer afternoon while the scent of lemon blossom and wild flowers blends with the dusty salty air blowing in from the river.

What The Sommelier Says

This elegant and balanced white wine, with citrus and dried fruit mineral notes, is produced exclusively with Arinto grapes and fermented in 600-liter barrels with battonage.

Pairs well with…

…A whole baked sea bream with lemon and fennel, a creamy prawn and Arinto risotto, or a platter of aged Azeitão cheese with honey and walnuts.

Region: Setúbal Peninsula

The Setúbal region is thought to be the home of the first grape vines ever planted on the Iberian Peninsula (c 2000 BCE). Today, the region’s wines range from the sweet, floral Moscatel from the Serra da Arrábida, to the sublime reds of a well-structured Palmela. With fresh, coastal breezes and hot summers, the region offers some exquisite tasting experiences.
